Frequently asked questions

Should I use spaces in the App Store keyword field?

No. Separate keywords with commas only; spaces waste characters. Apple combines individual words, so “photo, editor” also matches “photo editor”.

Should I repeat words from my app name in the keywords?

No. Words in your app name, subtitle and developer name are already indexed, so repeating them only wastes space.

Does Google Play have a keyword field?

No. Google Play indexes your title, short description and full description, so use keywords naturally in those texts instead.
